The expert session on “Agriculture to Banking, Financial Services, Insurance: Exploring Careers Beyond the Farm” will be organized to create awareness among agriculture students about the wide range of career opportunities available beyond conventional farming and allied agricultural activities. The session will provide students with an understanding of how their academic background in agriculture can be effectively utilized in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector and other related corporate domains.

The session will be led by Dr. Tarun Bhatia, Consultant, TimesPro, a Times of India Group company, and Cluster Head (Uttarakhand) for Bajaj Finserv’s Skill Development Initiatives. Through his professional experience in skill development and industry-oriented initiatives, Dr. Bhatia will provide practical insights into the changing employment landscape and the competencies required by organizations operating in the financial and corporate sectors.

The session will focus on emerging career avenues such as agricultural banking, rural finance, credit management, financial inclusion, insurance, microfinance, agri-business, customer relationship management, financial advisory services, and rural development finance. Students will be introduced to the role of financial institutions in supporting agriculture, farmers, agri-enterprises, rural communities, and the broader agricultural value chain.
