An Overview of Animation & Visual Effects in Movie Making

The event titled “An Overview of Animation & Visual Effects in Movie Making” is a comprehensive academic session designed to introduce students to the creative and technical dimensions of animation and visual effects (VFX) in contemporary cinema. The program aims to provide participants with a structured understanding of how animation and VFX are integrated into the film production process to enhance storytelling, visual impact, and audience engagement.

The session will begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of animation and visual effects, explaining their evolution and significance in modern filmmaking. Students will be guided through the complete production pipeline, including pre-production planning such as script analysis, storyboarding, and VFX shot breakdown. The discussion will further cover production-level practices like green screen usage, motion capture basics, and coordination between directors and VFX supervisors on set.

In the post-production segment, participants will gain insight into processes such as CGI creation, compositing, rendering, editing, and final output. A brief overview of industry-standard software and digital tools will also be included to familiarize students with professional workflows and technical requirements.

The event will incorporate case studies and scene breakdowns from films to demonstrate the practical application of animation and VFX in real cinematic contexts. An interactive question-and-answer session will allow students to engage directly with experts, clarify doubts, and understand career opportunities in the field.
