The Capacity-Building Workshop on Cultivating Compassionate Agriculturalists: Integrating Innovation and Entrepreneurship is being organized by the Department of Agriculture, School of Agriculture (SoA) under the AG-VENTURE Club and the Institute Innovation Council (IIC). The workshop aims to empower students with knowledge, skills, and values that promote innovative and sustainable agricultural practices while encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset among young agricultural professionals.
Agriculture today faces numerous challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, declining soil fertility, and the need for sustainable food production. Addressing these issues requires not only scientific knowledge but also compassion toward nature, farmers, and society. This workshop is designed to sensitize students about the importance of responsible agricultural practices while introducing them to innovative approaches and entrepreneurial opportunities in the agricultural sector.
During the workshop, experts and faculty members will share insights on sustainable farming practices, agricultural innovation, agri-startups, and the role of youth in transforming the agricultural landscape. The event will provide a platform for students to interact with experts, discuss real-world agricultural problems, and explore innovative solutions that support responsible consumption and production in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG-12).
The workshop will also highlight the importance of integrating compassion with technology and innovation to develop agricultural systems that are productive, environmentally responsible, and socially inclusive. Through interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants will gain a better understanding of how innovation and entrepreneurship can contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
Overall, the event aims to inspire students to become responsible and compassionate agriculturalists who can contribute to the development of sustainable, innovative, and resilient agricultural systems for the future.
