This event aims to encourage undergraduate students to engage in “creative writing” as a medium to reflect upon and respond to contemporary social issues such as equality, inclusion, environmental awareness, and social justice. The competition seeks to foster innovation, critical thinking, and social responsibility through literary creativity, in alignment with the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).
Creative writing is a powerful medium through which social realities, inequalities, and aspirations can be expressed and questioned. Literature has historically played a significant role in shaping social consciousness and inspiring transformation. In the contemporary world, creative expression— through short stories, poetry, essays, and reflective narratives— can foster innovation, empathy, and critical thinking among young learners.
The Creative Writing and Social Transformation Challenge aims to encourage undergraduate students to explore pressing social issues through creative writing, linking literary creativity with social responsibility. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) by promoting innovative thinking, problem awareness, and socially engaged creativity.
