CRAFTS OF RAKSHA BANDHAN AND JANAMASTHMI CELEBRATION FOR PARAMEDICAL STUDENTS

Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami are two important Hindu festivals celebrated with great devotion and joy across India, including among paramedical students. Raksha Bandhan, observed on the full moon day of the month of Shravan (July–August), symbolizes the bond of love and protection between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread called Rakhi on their brothers’ wrists, pray for their well-being, and offer sweets, while brothers give gifts and promise to protect their sisters. In paramedical colleges, students often organize cultural programs, exchange Rakhi's, and share sweets, reflecting unity and care beyond family ties. Janmashtami, celebrated on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada (August–September), marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe fasting, sing devotional songs, and decorate temples and homes with flowers and lights. Among paramedical students, the celebration may include decorating classrooms, organizing skits or devotional dances, different creative games like painting handi, painting , drawing inspired by Krishna ji  and arranging a small cradle for Krishna’s idol. In some places, students also enjoy a symbolic Dahi Handi event. Both festivals promote love, devotion, teamwork, and togetherness, strengthening bonds between students while creating a joyful and culturally vibrant atmosphere in the paramedical community.
