About the Event
The Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the Department of Animation at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University was organized to warmly welcome students and introduce them to the academic, creative, and professional environment of the university. The programme aimed to help students understand the department’s vision, academic structure, learning opportunities, campus facilities, and the various avenues available for their creative and professional growth.The event commenced with a warm welcome by the faculty members, followed by an inspiring inaugural address by the university dignitaries. They highlighted the importance of creativity, discipline, innovation, continuous learning, and professional ethics in building a successful career in the animation and creative media industry. Students were introduced to the curriculum structure, academic policies, examination system, practical learning, studio-based education, and industry-oriented practices that form an integral part of the Animation programme.Faculty members from the Department of Animation interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into the learning process, creative techniques, career opportunities, and the importance of developing skills in visual storytelling, character design, 2D and 3D animation, digital art, motion graphics, modelling, and related creative disciplines. Students were also introduced to various software tools, practical projects, workshops, internships, industry exposure, and portfolio development opportunities that can help them prepare for professional careers.The orientation programme also highlighted the importance of participating in student clubs, cultural activities, competitions, exhibitions, workshops, sports, and other campus events. Students were encouraged to actively engage in these activities to enhance their creativity, communication, teamwork, confidence, and overall personality development.Interactive sessions and ice-breaking activities created a friendly and engaging atmosphere, allowing students to interact with their peers and faculty members. These activities helped students become comfortable in their new academic environment and encouraged them to share their interests, ideas, and aspirations.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the university administration, faculty members, organizing team, and all those who contributed to making the orientation programme informative, engaging, and memorable.Overall, the Orientation Programme successfully provided the newly admitted Animation students with a clear understanding of their academic journey and the creative opportunities available at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University. It laid a strong foundation for their educational experience and motivated them to explore their creativity, develop industry-relevant skills, and pursue excellence in the field of animation and visual communication.
Planning Activities:-
- Shape it up! : Students sculpt or build anything from characters to concepts using clay or craft materials.
- Reel Making : Announcement of making reels on topic "Daily Life Aawareness'.
- BattleGrid : LAN Gaming session
- Doodle Relay : One person draws a random doodle, the next continues it into something else—chain continues.
- Can you guess it : Students guess the right arrangement of cans.
- Movie Session (Studio Ghibli) : A movie session for students
- Exploring the Journey to Sound Design : A Gen Z Perspective : A learning session for student with the expert.
- Treasure Hunt : Student explore the campus for clues and finding the treasure.
- Reel Screening : Screening of all best reels

- Day 1 – Monday
- Student–Teacher Introduction & Interaction with all faculty members.
- School Introduction, Department Orientation and Code of Conduct with the Head of Department.
- Address by the Hon’ble VC/PVC.
- “Shape It Up” – Interactive activity conducted by Ms. Surbhi Sudi and Ms. Suruchi Negi.
- Day 2 – Tuesday
- “BattleGrid” – Interactive and team-building activity conducted by Mr. Ankit Singh and Mr. Sumit Bisht.
- “Doodle Relay” – Creative activity conducted by Ms. Surbhi Sudi and Mr. Mukul Dev.
- Day 3 – Wednesday
- “Can You Guess It?” – Fun and interactive activity conducted by Ms. Surbhi Sudi and Ms. Suruchi Negi.
- Psychology Session by Ms. Mahima.
- Movie Session – “Studio Ghibli” conducted by Mr. Ankit Singh.
- Day 4 – Thursday
- “Exploring the Journey to Sound Design: A Gen Z Perspective”.
- Special session by Ms. Seema Shukla.
- The session covered the creative journey and contemporary perspectives of sound design.
- Day 5 – Friday
- “Treasure Hunt” – Team-based interactive activity conducted by Ms. Diksha Gola and Mr. Ankit Singh.
- Reel Screening showcasing students’ creative work.
- Prize Distribution & Closing Ceremony to recognize participation and achievements.
- Daily Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
- The five-day programme focused on student–faculty interaction, creative exploration, team building, psychological well-being, industry-oriented learning, and overall student engagement.
Aim of the Event
- To warmly welcome newly admitted Animation students and help them transition smoothly into university life.
- To familiarize students with the vision, mission, academic structure, policies, and learning environment of the Department of Animation.
- To provide an overview of the Animation curriculum, practical learning, studio work, internships, industry exposure, and career opportunities.
- To introduce students to faculty members, campus facilities, creative studios, software resources, student support services, and extracurricular activities.
- To encourage students to develop creativity, visual storytelling, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional skills.
- To motivate students to actively participate in workshops, competitions, exhibitions, student activities, and industry-oriented projects.
