Deeksharambh (Induction-cum-Foundation Programme)

The School of Agriculture, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, is organizing the Deeksharambh (Induction-cum-Foundation Programme) to warmly welcome the newly admitted students into the university community and facilitate their smooth transition into higher education. The programme is designed in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), with the objective of helping students adapt to the academic environment, understand institutional values, and prepare for a successful educational journey.

The programme aims to familiarize students with the university's vision, mission, academic regulations, curriculum framework, examination system, student support services, code of conduct, and campus facilities. Through a series of interactive sessions, expert lectures, motivational talks, and orientation activities, students will gain valuable insights into the agricultural education system, career opportunities, research prospects, entrepreneurship, innovation, and experiential learning initiatives available within the university.

Special emphasis will be placed on promoting ethical values, professional conduct, environmental consciousness, physical and mental well-being, gender sensitivity, digital literacy, and the importance of multidisciplinary learning in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme will also introduce students to various academic clubs, extension activities, incubation and innovation opportunities, library resources, and co-curricular platforms that contribute to their holistic development.

The Deeksharambh Programme serves as a foundation for building confidence, fostering meaningful interactions with faculty members and peers, and creating a sense of belonging within the university community. By encouraging active participation and lifelong learning, the programme aspires to nurture competent agricultural professionals equipped with knowledge, skills, values, and leadership qualities to address contemporary challenges in agriculture and contribute effectively towards sustainable rural development and national progress.
