The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering will organize a multidisciplinary technical event on 18th February, 2026, designed to expose students to the practical and conceptual integration of Drone Technology, Mechatronics, PLC, SCADA, Instrumentation, and AI/ML. The event aims to strengthen the understanding of how modern engineering domains converge to develop intelligent, automated, and autonomous systems.
The program will include keynote lectures by academic experts and industry professionals, technical demonstrations, and a hands-on drone assembly workshop. Participants will explore the architecture of drones, including structural frames, propulsion systems, electronic speed controllers, flight controllers, power distribution modules, and sensor integration. The workshop will provide direct experience in assembling, wiring, configuring, and calibrating drone components.
Dedicated sessions on PLC and SCADA will highlight their critical role in industrial automation, real-time monitoring, supervisory control, and system optimization. The instrumentation segment will focus on sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems essential for precision control and feedback mechanisms.
Furthermore, the event will address the application of AI/ML in automation and aerospace systems, such as autonomous navigation, computer vision, predictive maintenance, and intelligent decision-making. Students will gain insights into emerging technologies, research directions, and career pathways.
By combining theoretical knowledge with experiential learning, the event will cultivate technical competence, innovation, problem-solving abilities, and interdisciplinary thinking. It is expected to serve as a valuable platform for nurturing future-ready engineers equipped for advancements in automation, robotics, and aerospace engineering.
AIM of the Event:
