National Nutrition Week. Theme: Eat Right for a Better Life

The School of Allied Sciences, Department of Food Technology, is organizing Nutritional Week on 4th and 5th September 2025 under the theme “Eat Right for a Better Life.” The celebration is designed to create awareness about the importance of healthy eating, balanced nutrition, and sustainable food habits. It will also provide a vibrant platform for students to learn, compete, and express their creativity through a series of engaging activities.

On Day 1, the event will begin with a Student Seminar, where participants will present on topics related to nutrition and healthy living. This will be followed by a Poster Competition, in which teams of two will design informative and creative posters on nutrition-related themes. A Rangoli Competition will also be organized, with teams of three students creating rangolis that visually convey messages about health, wellness, and nutrition.

On Day 2, students will take part in a Cooking Competition based on innovative product development. Teams of three will prepare healthy and nutritious food products, focusing on originality and practical application. Later, they will present their products, highlighting their nutritional benefits and uniqueness. The celebration will conclude with a Valedictory Function and Prize Distribution, where winners will be honoured with medals and certificates.

AIM of the Event:

  1. To spread awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition for a healthy lifestyle.
  2. To encourage creativity and innovation in food product development.
  3. To provide a platform for students to showcase knowledge through seminars, posters, rangoli, and cooking.
  4. To build teamwork, communication, and presentation skills among participants.
  5. To motivate students towards adopting sustainable and healthy eating habits.
