The School of Agriculture, DBUU is organizing an educational field visit to Centre for Aromatic Plants on 2nd April 2026 for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry and B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. This visit is planned as a part of experiential learning to provide students with practical exposure to the cultivation, processing, and utilization of aromatic and medicinal plants.
The primary objective of this visit is to enhance students’ understanding of the scientific, technical, and commercial aspects of aromatic plant production. Students will gain first-hand knowledge about different species of aromatic plants, their agronomic practices, nursery management, harvesting techniques, and post-harvest handling. The visit will also provide insights into essential oil extraction processes, value addition, and quality control measures, which are crucial for developing agro-based industries.
Through interaction with experts and scientists at the centre, students will be introduced to ongoing research, improved varieties, and innovative technologies related to aromatic crops. This exposure will help them understand the scope of medicinal and aromatic plants in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry systems, and rural livelihood enhancement.
Additionally, the visit will highlight the economic importance of aromatic plants and their role in promoting entrepreneurship and employment opportunities in the agriculture and forestry sectors. Students will also develop a better appreciation for conservation and sustainable utilization of plant resources.

AIM of the Event:
