"Empowered Lifestyle, Healthy Choices: Reducing Cancer Risk in Females"

An awareness session titled “Empowered Lifestyle, Healthy Choices: Reducing Cancer Risk in Females” will be organised with the objective of promoting preventive health awareness and encouraging informed lifestyle practices among participants. The programme will aim to enhance understanding of modifiable risk factors, early detection, and preventive strategies associated with female cancers. In particular, lifestyle and health choices will be discussed and suggested from an Ayurveda perspective, emphasising holistic well-being, balance of body and mind, and natural preventive approaches that complement modern health knowledge.

The session will be delivered by Professor Dr. (Mrs.) Aruna, Head of the Department of Gynaecology, whose expertise in women’s health and Ayurvedic principles will guide participants toward adopting sustainable and health-conscious habits. She will elaborate on risk factors, preventive screening, and behavioural modifications while integrating Ayurvedic insights related to diet regulation, daily routine, stress management, and natural wellness practices. The session will highlight how traditional knowledge systems can contribute to preventive healthcare and risk reduction when combined with scientific awareness and responsible decision-making.The programme will be conducted at the Ayurveda Seminar Hall, ensuring an academic and interactive environment conducive to meaningful discussion and knowledge exchange. The event will be organised by Ms. Muskan Sharma, Associate Professor, along with Ms. Beena, Nursing Tutor, who will coordinate planning, execution, and participant engagement. Their efforts will reflect the institution’s commitment to interdisciplinary learning and promotion of preventive health education within the academic community.Participants will be encouraged to actively engage during the session through discussion and interaction, enabling them to clarify queries and broaden their understanding of integrative health approaches. The exchange of knowledge will be expected to foster awareness regarding healthy lifestyle adaptation, preventive screenings, and the value of combining conventional medical understanding with Ayurveda-based wellness practices.Upon completion, the programme will be anticipated to contribute meaningfully toward health promotion by equipping participants with knowledge that can influence everyday choices and encourage early preventive action. It will also strengthen institutional initiatives that support holistic health awareness and professional development among students and faculty in healthcare disciplines.Overall, the session will represent a progressive step toward cultivating responsible health behaviour while acknowledging the importance of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom in promoting preventive and balanced living in the context of female cancer risk reduction.
