Empowering Innovation Using ANN: From Core Concepts to Real-World Applications in Industry 4.0”

The rapid transformation brought by Industry 4.0 has opened new avenues for innovation, automation, and intelligent decision-making. At the heart of these advancements lies Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), one of the most powerful tools within the Artificial Intelligence domain. To equip undergraduate students with essential knowledge and practical insight into this emerging technology, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University is organizing a focused workshop titled “Empowering Innovation Using ANN: From Core Concepts to Real-World Applications in Industry 4.0.”

This event is designed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of neural networks, including perceptrons, activation functions, learning algorithms, and error minimization. The session will explain how ANN models learn patterns from data, make predictions, and solve complex real-world problems across various sectors.

Students will explore the role of ANN in Industry 4.0 technologies such as smart manufacturing, quality control, predictive maintenance, autonomous systems, and digital twins. The workshop also highlights entrepreneurial and innovation-driven opportunities, demonstrating how ANN-based solutions are shaping new startups, products, and AI-enabled services.

The session includes interactive demonstrations, hands-on examples, and problem-solving activities to help students gain practical exposure. By the end of the workshop, students will understand how ANN can be applied to real-life industrial and societal challenges, encouraging them to build innovative projects, research ideas, and prototypes.

This event aligns with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) theme of promoting AI and Industry 4.0 tools for innovators and entrepreneurs, empowering students with the skills needed to become future-ready professionals.

AIM of the Event:

  • To introduce the fundamental concepts and working principles of Artificial Neural Networks.
  • To familiarize students with real-world applications of ANN in Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • To develop the ability to apply ANN for solving basic classification, prediction, and optimization problems.
  • To encourage innovation and entrepreneurial thinking using ANN-based solutions.
