HANDS ON TRAINING WORKSHOP ON FIRST AID

A hands-on training workshop on first aid was organized with the aim of enhancing participants’ knowledge and practical skills in managing emergency situations. The workshop focused on providing essential first aid techniques that can be applied immediately during accidents or sudden health emergencies before professional medical help arrives. The session was designed to be interactive and practical, enabling participants to learn by doing rather than only through theoretical explanation. The workshop began with an introduction to the importance of first aid and the role of a first responder in saving lives. Participants were educated about the basic principles of first aid, including assessing the scene for safety, checking the responsiveness of the victim, and calling for medical assistance. The trainer demonstrated key life-saving procedures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), management of bleeding, treatment of burns, handling fractures, and providing care for choking victims. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining hygiene, using a first aid kit effectively, and ensuring patient comfort until advanced medical care becomes available.During the hands-on session, participants practiced different first aid techniques under the guidance of the trainer. They were given opportunities to perform bandaging methods, immobilization of fractures, and positioning of unconscious patients in the recovery position. Demonstrations and return demonstrations helped participants build confidence and improve their practical competence. The workshop concluded with a brief discussion and question-and-answer session, allowing participants to clarify doubts and reinforce their learning.

Overall, the workshop was highly informative and beneficial, empowering participants with essential first aid knowledge and skills that can help save lives and reduce complications during emergencies.
