Hands-on Training on Ganoderma Mushroom Cultivation

The Hands-on Training on Ganoderma Mushroom Cultivation is being organized by the Department of Agriculture under the AG-VENTURE Club to provide practical knowledge and skill-based learning to students. Ganoderma, commonly known as a medicinal mushroom, is widely recognized for its therapeutic properties and economic importance in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries.

This workshop aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by offering participants direct exposure to the scientific cultivation process of Ganoderma. During the training, students will learn about substrate preparation, sterilization techniques, inoculation methods, environmental requirements, and harvesting procedures. Emphasis will also be placed on maintaining hygiene, quality control, and post-harvest management to ensure high productivity.

The program is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities among students by introducing them to mushroom cultivation as a viable agribusiness model. Experts and resource persons will guide participants through each stage of cultivation, providing insights into cost-effective production and market potential.

Additionally, the workshop aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting the use of medicinal mushrooms for improving health and immunity. It also indirectly supports sustainable agricultural practices by encouraging eco-friendly and low-input farming techniques.

Overall, this training program will empower students with technical skills, enhance their scientific understanding, and motivate them to explore innovative agricultural ventures.
