Inaugural Ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada Diwas

On behalf of the Library Committee, we are pleased to propose the celebration of Hindi Pakhwada Diwas at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU). Every year, Hindi Pakhwada is observed from 14th to 28th September, starting with Hindi Diwas on 14th September, which marks the day when Hindi was adopted as the official language of India. The main purpose of this celebration is to promote the use of Hindi as an effective medium of communication in academic, administrative, and social contexts within our university. It also aims to instill pride in our national language and cultural heritage.

This year, rather than organizing a large-scale event, the Library Committee proposes to celebrate Hindi Pakhwada in a simple, meaningful, and engaging manner that reflects the spirit of the occasion. The Inaugural Ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada Diwas will be organized to set the tone for the fortnight-long celebrations. The event is scheduled to take place on 16th September 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Vivekananda Library, Main Building.

The proposed program will begin with the Lighting of the Lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom. This will be followed by a Welcome Address by the Chairperson of the Library Committee, which will emphasize the importance of promoting Hindi in the academic environment. The highlight of the event will be the Keynote Address, which will elaborate on the historical, cultural, and administrative significance of Hindi Diwas and its relevance in today’s context.

Through this initiative, the Library Committee aims to create awareness, encourage active participation, and promote the rich linguistic heritage of India.
