Masterclass on Startup Financing and Investment Strategies
About the Event
The School of Management & Commerce (SoMC), Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, is organizing a Masterclass on “Startup Financing and Investment Strategies” for MBA students on 19th August 2026. The masterclass is designed to provide students with practical and industry-oriented insights into the financial challenges and investment decisions involved in establishing, managing, and scaling a startup.
The session will focus on key aspects of startup financing, including various sources of startup capital such as bootstrapping, angel investment, venture capital, bank financing, crowdfunding, and government-supported funding schemes. Students will gain an understanding of how entrepreneurs identify suitable funding options at different stages of a venture and how investors evaluate the potential, scalability, risk, and financial viability of startups.
The masterclass will also explore important investment strategies from both entrepreneurial and investor perspectives. Topics such as business valuation, funding rounds, equity dilution, investor pitching, due diligence, return expectations, and risk assessment will be discussed through practical examples and real-world startup cases. The session will encourage students to critically analyse investment opportunities and understand the financial implications of various strategic decisions.
Through interactive discussions, case-based learning, and industry insights, the masterclass aims to bridge the gap between classroom concepts and the realities of startup financing. MBA students will have the opportunity to enhance their financial decision-making, entrepreneurial thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of the startup ecosystem.
The event will serve as a valuable learning platform for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs, venture capital professionals, investment analysts, or business leaders. It will further strengthen their understanding of how effective financing and investment strategies contribute to sustainable business growth and long-term value creation.
