MASTERING MOOT COURT ADVOCACY: RESEARCH, DRAFTING AND ORAL ARGUMENT SKILLS

The One Day Workshop on Mastering Moot Court Advocacy is strategically designed to equip law students with the practical competencies required to excel in competitive mooting and professional courtroom advocacy. Moot court exercises play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical legal education and real-life litigation practice by enhancing analytical reasoning, research proficiency, drafting precision, and persuasive communication skills. This intensive workshop focuses on three core pillars of advocacy: legal research, memorial drafting, and oral argumentation.

The legal research session will train participants in the effective use of legal databases, interpretation of statutes, analysis of landmark judgments, and identification of binding precedents. Participants will also learn how to frame clear legal issues and develop coherent, authority-backed arguments.

The drafting module will emphasize the preparation of structured and persuasive memorials, covering essential components such as statement of jurisdiction, issues raised, summary of arguments, detailed pleadings, citation formats, and compliance with national and international moot court rules.

The oral advocacy segment will provide practical training in court etiquette, structured submissions, voice modulation, time management, rebuttal and sur-rebuttal strategies, and handling judicial interventions with confidence.

Through interactive sessions, simulations, and expert guidance, this workshop aims to develop confident, research-oriented, and articulate mooters prepared to compete effectively at national and international platforms.
