National Science Day “Agri-Science Conclave 2026: Innovating for Sustainable Tomorrow” (Quiz and Poster Presentation )

The Department of Agriculture, School of Agriculture (SoA), Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, is organizing a grand celebration of National Science Day on 28 February 2026 under the theme “Agri-Science Conclave 2026: Innovating for Sustainable Tomorrow.” This day commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by the renowned Indian physicist C. V. Raman, highlighting India’s remarkable contribution to global scientific advancement. The event aims to cultivate scientific awareness and promote innovation-oriented thinking among students, particularly in the context of agricultural development.

The Conclave will feature a Science Quiz Competition and Poster Presentation centered on emerging innovations in agriculture, including climate-resilient farming, precision agriculture, sustainable soil management, agri-biotechnology, integrated pest management, digital agriculture, and agri-startups. Students will be encouraged to explore contemporary challenges such as food security, environmental sustainability, water conservation, and technological interventions in farming systems.

Organized under the AG-VENTURE Club and aligned with SDG-9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), the event seeks to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications. It will provide a dynamic academic platform for students to showcase their research insights, scientific models, and creative problem-solving approaches. The poster presentations will allow participants to visually communicate innovative agricultural concepts, while the quiz competition will test their understanding of scientific principles, recent advancements, and agricultural technologies.

The celebration is designed not only as a competition but also as a learning experience that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence. Faculty members and judges will interact with participants, offering constructive feedback and encouraging interdisciplinary perspectives. The event will also inspire students to pursue research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in agriculture, thereby contributing to sustainable development and nation-building.

Through this initiative, the School of Agriculture reaffirms its commitment to promoting scientific excellence, fostering innovation ecosystems, and empowering future agricultural professionals to address global challenges through science-driven solutions.
