National Tourism Day Celebration

The National Tourism Day Celebration, observed on 25th January, was organized to highlight the importance of tourism as a vital contributor to economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. The event aimed to create awareness among students and faculty members about the role of tourism in nation-building, employment generation, and the promotion of India’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

Tourism plays a significant role in showcasing India’s diversity, traditions, hospitality, and historical legacy to the world. The celebration focused on sensitizing students to responsible and sustainable tourism practices, emphasizing the need to preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment, and promote ethical tourism behavior. Various discussions and academic interactions highlighted how tourism contributes to inclusive development by supporting local communities, artisans, and small enterprises.

The event also provided a platform to explore emerging trends in tourism such as experiential travel, eco-tourism, rural tourism, wellness tourism, and digital transformation in the tourism sector. Students were encouraged to understand the evolving expectations of modern travelers and the importance of innovation, service quality, and destination branding.

Special emphasis was placed on career opportunities and entrepreneurship in tourism and hospitality, motivating students to pursue professional excellence and creative ventures in the sector. The celebration fostered awareness about government initiatives, tourism policies, and the role of youth in strengthening India’s tourism potential.
