National Youth Day 2026

National Youth Day 2026, celebrated with the theme “Ignite the Self, Impact the World,” is a meaningful initiative organized in association with the NSS Cell of DBUU to honour the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and his vision for the youth of India. The event focuses on awakening the inner strength, character, and confidence of young people so that they can become responsible citizens and active contributors to social change.

Through inspirational talks, reflections on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, cultural performances, and NSS-led activities, students are encouraged to connect personal growth with service to others. The theme emphasizes that real transformation in society begins when individuals work on their own minds, values, and habits, and then extend that energy outward to their families, communities, and the nation. In line with the NSS motto “Not Me But You,” the event seeks to nurture qualities like empathy, discipline, leadership, and a sense of duty among volunteers and participants. By the end of the programme, the aim is that every student feels more inspired to “ignite” their inner potential and use it to “impact” the world positively through academics, Encourage students to see themselves as responsible citizens who can contribute to unity, harmony, and sustainable development social work, and everyday actions.

AIM of the Event:

  • Inspire students to recognize their inner strength, confidence, and capabilities, in line with Swami Vivekananda’s message of fearless, value-based living.
  • Encourage self-discipline, self-awareness, and a growth mindset so that each youth can truly “ignite the self.”
