Project Proposal Writing : Step-by-Step Guide

The workshop aims to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members by providing comprehensive guidance on the preparation and submission of research project proposals. With increasing opportunities for external research funding through agencies such as UCOST, it is essential for faculty members to develop the skills required to prepare high-quality, competitive, and fundable proposals.

The primary objective of the workshop is to familiarize participants with the various stages of project proposal development, including problem identification, formulation of research objectives, methodology design, budgeting, work planning, and documentation. The workshop will provide practical insights into the requirements, guidelines, and evaluation criteria followed by funding agencies, enabling faculty members to align their proposals with sponsor expectations.

Another key objective is to encourage greater participation of faculty members in externally funded research projects and promote a culture of innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence within the University. The workshop will also help participants understand common challenges in proposal writing and adopt best practices for preparing impactful research applications.

Through expert guidance and hands-on discussions, faculty members will gain confidence in conceptualizing and presenting research ideas effectively. The workshop is expected to improve both the quality and quantity of research proposals submitted to UCOST and other funding agencies, thereby enhancing the University's success rate in securing external grants.

Ultimately, the workshop seeks to strengthen the University’s research and innovation ecosystem by fostering a proactive approach toward research funding, capacity building, and knowledge creation, contributing significantly to the institution’s academic and research excellence.
