About the Event
QUIZZARDS is a knowledge-based quiz event organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on the auspicious occasion of Engineers’ Day, celebrated annually on 15th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of the eminent Indian engineer and nation-builder, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
The event aims to celebrate the spirit of engineering, innovation, scientific thinking, and continuous learning through an engaging and competitive quiz. The quiz will cover diverse areas, including Indian Knowledge System, General Science, Technology, and Current Affairs related to Engineering, Science, and Technology. Through these themes, participants will have the opportunity to explore India’s rich intellectual and technological heritage while staying informed about contemporary developments and innovations.
The Indian Knowledge System component will highlight India’s contributions to mathematics, astronomy, medicine, architecture, engineering, and traditional knowledge. The General Science and Technology sections will assess participants’ understanding of scientific concepts, technological advancements, emerging technologies, and significant innovations. The Current Affairs segment will focus on recent developments, achievements, discoveries, projects, policies, and notable events in engineering, science, and technology at national and global levels.
QUIZZARDS is designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, scientific temperament, and awareness of contemporary developments. It also provides a platform for students from different disciplines to interact, exchange knowledge, and participate in healthy academic competition.
By organizing the event on Engineers’ Day, the department seeks to inspire students to appreciate the role of engineers in innovation, infrastructure development, societal progress, and nation-building, while encouraging them to become informed and responsible professionals.
The event primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through knowledge enhancement and holistic learning.
Aim of the Event
- To celebrate Engineers’ Day by promoting the spirit of engineering, innovation, and knowledge.
- To enhance awareness of the Indian Knowledge System, General Science, and Technology.
- To develop knowledge of current affairs in engineering, science, and technology.
