Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in HEIs: ANRF’s Vision, Priorities, and Support Framework

The MIC-Driven Activity titled “Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in HEIs: ANRF’s Vision, Priorities, and Support Framework” aims to create awareness among faculty members and researchers about the evolving research and innovation ecosystem in India. The activity will focus on the role of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) in promoting high-quality, multidisciplinary, and impactful research across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The session will introduce participants to ANRF’s vision, key priorities, funding mechanisms, and major research support programmes. It will highlight opportunities available for early-career researchers, established faculty members, interdisciplinary research teams, and institutions seeking to strengthen their research capabilities. Participants will also gain insights into developing competitive research proposals, identifying suitable funding opportunities, building academic–industry collaborations, and translating research outcomes into innovative technologies and societal applications. Special emphasis will be placed on emerging research areas such as sustainable development, artificial intelligence, climate-resilient infrastructure, advanced materials, healthcare, clean energy, and other nationally relevant challenges. The activity will encourage faculty and students to adopt a problem-solving and innovation-oriented approach to research. Overall, the programme seeks to strengthen the research culture within HEIs by encouraging collaborative, interdisciplinary, and outcome-oriented research. It will motivate participants to actively explore ANRF funding opportunities, enhance institutional research capacity, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and contribute towards India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through impactful scientific research and technological advancement.

AIM of the Event:

• To create awareness among faculty and researchers about ANRF's vision, priorities, schemes, and research funding opportunities.
• To strengthen research capacity in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by encouraging high-quality, multidisciplinary, and impactful research.
• To promote innovation and collaboration among academia, industry, government organizations, and research institutions.
• To develop proposal-writing skills and motivate faculty members to prepare competitive research proposals for national and international funding opportunities.
• To encourage research for societal impact by promoting innovative solutions to national challenges and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
