The Department of Forensic Science, School of Allied Science, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, will organize a Forensic Science Skill Development Boot Camp on 29 November 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM under the Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC). The event will aim to create a collaborative learning environment where senior and junior students will come together for hands-on training and interactive demonstrations in essential forensic techniques.
During the boot camp, third-year students will take the lead as peer mentors, guiding juniors through practical sessions and sharing their technical understanding. This peer-teaching approach will help junior students learn in a comfortable, engaging setting while also allowing senior students to develop leadership, communication, and teaching skills.
The training will focus on four major modules: handwriting and signature analysis, fingerprint development and comparison, crime scene documentation basics, and evidence handling and packaging. Each module will include demonstrations, practice-based activities, and discussions that will familiarize students with real-world forensic applications. The camp will aim to strengthen students’ understanding of core forensic procedures, encourage teamwork, and promote active participation in departmental activities. It will also supplement the curriculum by offering additional hands-on exposure that will prepare students for future practical evaluations, laboratory work, and field visits.Expected outcomes of the boot camp will include improved clarity of forensic concepts, increased student engagement, and enhanced practical readiness.
The event will also promote a supportive academic culture where knowledge is shared, and skills are developed collaboratively among students.Conducted under the supervision of faculty and in accordance with departmental safety guidelines, the boot camp will serve as an enriching platform for students to enhance their practical competence and build confidence in forensic science practices.
AIM of the Event:
