Manupatra Legal Database

The School of Law organized a Training Session on the Manupatra Legal Database to familiarize students with the effective use of digital legal research tools and enhance their legal research skills. The session was designed to provide students with practical knowledge of accessing, searching, and utilizing legal resources available through the Manupatra platform.

The training introduced students to the various features of the database, including case laws, statutes, regulations, legal articles, journals, notifications, and other legal resources. Students were guided on how to conduct effective searches using keywords, case names, citations, and subject-specific filters. Special emphasis was placed on locating relevant judgments, understanding case history, identifying subsequent judicial developments, and retrieving authoritative legal materials.

The session also demonstrated how Manupatra can be used for academic assignments, moot court preparation, legal drafting, classroom research, and scholarly writing. Students were encouraged to adopt systematic research strategies and verify legal propositions through primary sources such as judgments and statutory provisions.
