Turning ideas into viable businesses: A Hands-on workshop

The Quiz Competition on “Turning Ideas into Viable Businesses: A Hands-on Workshop” was organized to encourage students to think innovatively and understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in the pharmacy and healthcare domain. The event aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge about transforming creative ideas into practical business models through an engaging and interactive quiz format. Students from various pharmacy programs actively participated in the competition, showing great enthusiasm and interest in startup culture, product innovation, and business planning.

The quiz competition consisted of multiple rounds designed to test participants’ knowledge in areas such as idea generation, product–market fit, branding, cost estimation, regulatory considerations, and minimum viable product (MVP) development. The preliminary round included multiple-choice questions focused on entrepreneurship basics and healthcare startup concepts. The second round challenged teams with case-based questions where they analyzed simple product ideas and suggested viable business strategies. A rapid-fire round further evaluated the participants’ quick thinking, creativity, and decision-making skills.

The event promoted teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative thinking among students. Participants discussed ideas such as herbal cosmetics, patient-friendly drug delivery systems, and smart pharmacy solutions, demonstrating their ability to connect academic learning with real-world applications. The interactive format of the quiz made the session lively and educational, while judges provided valuable insights and feedback after each round.

The competition successfully created awareness about entrepreneurship opportunities in the pharmacy field and motivated students to develop innovative, market-oriented ideas.
