The Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Innovation Protection & Strategic Management is being organized with the objective of creating awareness and building capacity among students, researchers, faculty members, and budding entrepreneurs about the importance of protecting intellectual creations in today’s knowledge-driven economy. In an era where innovation plays a pivotal role in economic growth and technological advancement, understanding IPR has become essential for sustainable development and competitive advantage.
The workshop aims to provide comprehensive insights into various forms of intellectual property such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications. Participants will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of IPR, the legal framework governing intellectual property in India, and international perspectives on innovation protection. Special emphasis will be laid on patent filing procedures, prior art search, drafting of patent applications, and commercialization of intellectual property.
In addition to legal aspects, the workshop will focus on the strategic management of intellectual property, highlighting how effective IPR strategies can enhance innovation, promote entrepreneurship, and support start-ups and MSMEs. Case studies, real-life examples, and interactive sessions will help participants understand the practical challenges and opportunities associated with intellectual property protection.
The workshop aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by encouraging innovation, strengthening institutional capacity, and promoting sustainable industrial growth.
