Workshop on Protecting IPR & IP Management for Start-ups

The Department of Agriculture, under the AG-VENTURE Club, is organizing a workshop on “Protecting IPR & IP Management for Start-ups” to enhance awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. In the rapidly evolving landscape of innovation and agri-based entrepreneurship, safeguarding intellectual assets has become crucial for ensuring competitive advantage and sustainable growth.

This workshop aims to provide participants with comprehensive insights into various forms of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and geographical indications, with special emphasis on their relevance in agriculture and allied sectors. Experts in the field will deliver sessions on the process of filing patents, strategies for IP protection, commercialization of innovations, and legal frameworks governing intellectual property in India.

The program will also focus on practical aspects of IP management for start-ups, guiding participants on how to identify, protect, and leverage their innovations effectively. Real-life case studies and interactive discussions will help attendees understand the challenges and opportunities associated with intellectual property in the startup ecosystem.

By the end of the workshop, participants will gain valuable knowledge to transform their innovative ideas into legally protected assets, fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and ethical responsibility. This initiative aligns with the university’s vision to promote research-driven innovation and support start-up ecosystems in agriculture and related domains.
