3 Days Workshop on Total Station: Principle, Operation and Practical Applications
About the Event
The Department of Civil Engineering is organizing a workshop on “Total Station: Principle, Operation and Practical Applications” in collaboration with Formation Engineering Consultancy. The workshop is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of modern surveying techniques and practical exposure to the operation and applications of Total Station technology.Total Station is an essential surveying instrument widely used in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure development, topographic surveying, setting out, alignment, contouring, and measurement of horizontal and vertical angles and distances. With the increasing adoption of digital technologies in the construction and infrastructure sectors, proficiency in modern surveying equipment has become an important skill for Civil Engineering students and young professionals. The workshop will cover the fundamental principles, components, working procedures, field operations, data collection, and practical applications of Total Station. Particular emphasis will be placed on hands-on demonstrations and field-based exercises to enable participants to understand the complete workflow involved in Total Station surveying. Industry experts from Formation Engineering Consultancy will share practical knowledge and professional insights, helping participants bridge the gap between theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and their implementation in real-world engineering projects. The workshop aims to enhance participants’ technical competencies, surveying skills, field confidence, and employability in the civil engineering and construction sectors. It will also provide an opportunity for interaction between academia and industry and promote knowledge exchange regarding current surveying practices.
Aim of the Event
