World Forest Day is celebrated globally to raise awareness about the importance of forests and their role in sustaining life on Earth. On this occasion, the Department of Forestry under the AG-VENTURE Club is organizing a series of engaging and educational activities, including a Quiz Competition, Poster Making, Stone Painting, and Wildlife Photography Display.
The event aims to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage them to understand the significance of forests in maintaining ecological balance. Through creative and competitive activities, participants will get an opportunity to express their ideas, knowledge, and artistic skills related to forest conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable practices.
The quiz competition will test students’ knowledge about forestry, wildlife, and environmental issues, while the poster-making and stone-painting activities will allow them to creatively depict themes like conservation, afforestation, and wildlife protection. Additionally, the wildlife photography display will showcase the beauty and diversity of nature, inspiring students to appreciate and protect natural ecosystems.
This event also aligns with Sustainable Development Goals such as Climate Action (SDG 13) and Life on Land (SDG 15), emphasizing the need for collective responsibility towards environmental sustainability. Overall, the program will serve as a platform to educate, engage, and motivate students to contribute towards forest conservation and environmental protection.
