World Photography Day, celebrated annually on 19thAugust, is a global tribute to the art, science, andemotion behind photography. This year, our celebrationfocuses on the theme “Capturing Moments”, honouringthe timeless ability of photographs to preserve life’sfleeting experiences. The event is designed to inspirephotography enthusiasts, students, and professionals tolook beyond technical perfection and appreciate thedeeper stories that each frame can tell. Through guidedsessions, participants will explore the fundamentals ofletterforms, strokes, spacing, and composition, along withhands-on practice using calligraphy tools such as nibpens, brushes, and ink. Emphasis will be placed on bothtraditional and contemporary approaches, enablingparticipants to create personalized designs, artworks, andtypography-based compositions. The event will alsoencourage creativity by integrating calligraphy withmodern graphic design and digital applications.Photography is more than just pressing a shutter it is theart of freezing emotions, environments, and experiencesthat may otherwise fade from memory. Through thisevent, participants will explore how moments big orsmall, planned or spontaneous can become powerfulvisual narratives. The program will feature engagingphoto walks, live demonstrations, interactiveworkshops, and an exhibition of participant works,providing a platform for creativity and self-expression.Attendees will also learn from experienced photographerswho will share their insights on composition, lighting,storytelling, and ethical photography practices.
