Theme- “Seeds of Success: Hands-on Training in Seed Health, Viability and Treatment” on the occasion of International Seed Day on 13 th April, 2024

About Event-

To broaden the horizon of learning through wisdom filled Workshop, School of Agriculture and School of Allied Sciences (Department of Forestry and Department of Food Technology) are organizing Hands-on –Training Workshop on 13 th April, 2024.

Seed is the basic and most critical input for sustainable agriculture. The response of all other inputs depends on the quality of seeds to a large extent. For farmers, seed is life. Therefore, integrity and sanctity of every seed should be preserved and protected. Recognizing the importance of seeds, every year, on 26th April, International Seeds Day is celebrated. Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, School of Agricultural and School of Allied Sciences (Department of Forestry and Department of Food Technology) celebrating the same on 13th April, 2024 to make the students aware of the importance of seed.

Student volunteers from Agriculture, Forestry and Food Technology will transplant different types of plant seedlings to the main field and explain the importance and uses of particular plant. A total of 18 seedlings are displayed and that act as a centre for attraction. The programme was organized by event coordinators of SoA and SoAS under the guidance of Dean of SoA and Dean of SoAS.

Highlights- Students will gain deep knowledge about Forestmanagement. They will learn to restore and sustain Forest and agricultural cropd
