Regional NEP Workshop

About Event- 

A two-day Faculty Development Program jointly between Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, Dehradun and Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, New Delhi under the Bhartiya Gyan Parampara – Centre of Excellence on “New Education Policy 2020”. Focus of the workshop will be on the aspects of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara and Bhartiya Sanskriti. It is a regional Faculty Developemnt Program and will see participation of faculty from across the state of Uttarakhand.

Content of the Event- Faculty Development Program jointly between Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, Dehradun and
Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, New Delhi under the Bhartiya Gyan Parampara – Centre of Excellence on “National Education Policy 2020”.

Highlights of Events- The aim of a Faculty Development Program (FDP) workshop on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is to enhance faculty awareness and understanding of India's rich heritage, integrate IKS into curricula, and encourage related research. The program aims to preserve and disseminate traditional knowledge, improve pedagogical skills, and foster collaboration with IKS experts. By promoting critical engagement and contemporary application of IKS, the workshop seeks to enrich the academic environment, promote cultural understanding, and contribute to the intellectual growth of faculty and students.

AIM of the Event:

  • Promote Awareness and Understanding: Increase awareness and understanding among faculty members about the rich heritage and diverse aspects of the Indian Knowledge System, encompassing traditional science, arts, literature, philosophy, and medicine.
  • Integrate IKS into Curriculum: Equip faculty with the necessary tools and knowledge to integrate elements of the Indian Knowledge System into the existing curriculum, promoting a holistic and culturally enriched educational experience for students.
  • Enhance Research and Scholarship: Encourage faculty members to engage in research and scholarship related to the Indian Knowledge System, fostering interdisciplinary studies and contributing to the global body of knowledge.
  • Preserve and Disseminate IKS: Aid in the preservation and dissemination of traditional Indian knowledge and practices, ensuring they are passed on to future generations in an accurate and respectful manner.
  • Develop Pedagogical Skills: Enhance the pedagogical skills of faculty members by introducing innovative teaching methodologies inspired by the Indian Knowledge System, making learning more engaging and impactful.
  • Foster Collaboration and Networking: Create opportunities for faculty to collaborate and network with experts and institutions focused on the Indian Knowledge System, facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices.
  • Encourage Critical Thinking and Application: Encourage faculty to critically engage with the Indian Knowledge System, analyzing its contemporary relevance and potential applications in various fields of study and professional practice.
