The School of Agriculture (SOA), DBUU, in collaboration with the Ag-Venture Club, is organizing a series of competitions on 21st March 2025 to commemorate International Day of Forests. The theme for this year, Forest and Food, emphasizes the interconnection between forests, biodiversity, and food systems. The event will feature:
- Art and Craft Competition (Theme: Best out of Forest Waste) – Encouraging participants to create artistic pieces using recyclable and natural materials from forests.
- Videography Competition (Theme: Forest and Wildlife) – Showcasing short films/documentaries capturing the beauty and challenges faced by forests and their inhabitants.
- PowerPoint Presentation (Theme: Extinct, Endangered, and Vulnerable Forest Flora and Fauna) – Raising awareness about species at risk and discussing conservation strategies.
The event will take place at the SOA Building and Ayurveda Seminar Hall, beginning at 10:00 AM onwards, and is open to students from all departments of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University. Through this initiative, we strive to foster a deeper understanding of the critical role that forests play in our environment and encourage students to contribute towards their conservation.

AIM of the Event:
The primary objective of celebrating International Day of Forests 2025 under the Ag-Venture Club at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University is to raise awareness about the importance of forests in sustaining life, biodiversity, and food security. By engaging students in interactive competitions, we aim to highlight the role of forests in providing resources, maintaining ecological balance, and preserving endangered flora and fauna.
