Designing Nature: A Workshop on Process Development in Miniature Landscaping and Substrate Stratification of Bonsai, Succulents and seasonals flowers

"Designing Nature" is an engaging, hands-on workshop aimed at plant lovers, gardening enthusiasts, and horticulture students interested in the art and science of miniature landscaping. This event focuses on the process development of creating aesthetically pleasing and sustainable miniature gardens using bonsai, succulents, and seasonal flowers.

Participants will explore essential techniques in substrate stratification, learning how to layer different soil types for optimal drainage, aeration, and root development specific to each plant type. The workshop also covers design principles such as balance, proportion, and color harmony in miniature landscaping. Sessions will include practical demonstrations on styling bonsai, arranging succulents in artistic containers, and incorporating seasonal blooms for vibrant displays.

Experts will guide attendees through soil mix preparation, plant placement, container selection, and landscape accessorizing using moss, pebbles, and figurines. Emphasis will be placed on sustainable practices, plant care, and long-term maintenance.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have created their own miniature garden and gained valuable skills to continue experimenting with natural design on a small scale. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature creatively and scientifically while enhancing your green thumb.
