About the Event

Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU) Foundation Day – 16 September is a celebration of the University’s journey, achievements, institutional values, and the dedicated contributions of its faculty and staff members. The occasion provides an opportunity to acknowledge the people whose commitment and sustained efforts have contributed significantly to the growth and development of the University.

As part of the celebrations, a Long-Service Felicitation Ceremony will be organized to honour faculty members and staff who have rendered long and dedicated service to DBUU. The felicitation recognizes their loyalty, commitment, professional excellence, and valuable contribution to strengthening the institution over the years.

A key highlight of the Foundation Day celebrations will be the “Guru Gaurav Samman”, instituted to recognize and celebrate excellence among the University’s faculty members. The awards will acknowledge outstanding contributions in the areas of Teaching and Research, including academic excellence, innovative teaching practices, mentoring, research publications, innovation, intellectual property, research impact, and other significant academic contributions.

The event aims to create a culture of recognition, appreciation, excellence, and continuous professional development within the University community. By acknowledging dedicated educators, researchers, and long-serving employees, DBUU seeks to motivate its academic and support staff to pursue higher standards of professional and institutional excellence.

The programme also reflects the University’s commitment to quality education, research and innovation, employee engagement, and institutional development, thereby contributing primarily to SDG 4 – Quality Education, with linkages to SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
