Debate on AI vs Human Healthcare Professionals

About the Event

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the healthcare sector, with applications in medical diagnosis, medical imaging, laboratory medicine, patient monitoring, clinical decision support, healthcare data analysis, robotics, research, and personalized healthcare. These advancements are changing the way healthcare services are delivered and creating new opportunities as well as challenges for healthcare professionals. Against this background, the proposed debate will focus on the theme “Can Artificial Intelligence Replace Human Healthcare Professionals, or Will the Future Depend on Human–AI Collaboration?”

The event will provide healthcare students with a structured platform to critically examine the capabilities, limitations, opportunities, risks, ethical concerns, and future implications of AI in healthcare. Participants will discuss whether AI can independently perform tasks traditionally handled by healthcare professionals or whether human judgment, empathy, clinical experience, and ethical responsibility will remain essential.

The debate will encourage students to explore real-world applications of AI while considering issues such as data privacy, accuracy, accountability, bias, patient safety, employment, and professional responsibility. The event aims to promote scientific reasoning, evidence-based discussion, critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, and informed understanding of emerging healthcare technologies. It will also help students develop awareness of the evolving healthcare environment and prepare them for future professional roles in an increasingly technology-driven healthcare system.

Aim of the Event
