Ganesh Aagaman: A Mural of New Beginnings
About the Event
The Ganesh Mural Making Event is being organized as a creative and collaborative activity to encourage students to explore the relationship between art, culture, architecture, and spatial expression. The event will involve the creation of a large-scale mural inspired by Lord Ganesha, a significant cultural and artistic symbol associated with wisdom, creativity, prosperity, and new beginnings.
The mural-making activity will provide students with an opportunity to transform a plain surface into a meaningful visual composition through sketching, composition, colour selection, detailing, and surface application. Students will work collectively on the mural, allowing them to develop their artistic skills while learning the importance of teamwork, coordination, and creative decision-making. The activity will also encourage students to experiment with different artistic techniques and understand how murals can contribute to the identity and visual character of a space.
From an architectural and interior design perspective, the event will demonstrate how art can be integrated with built environments to create engaging, culturally responsive, and visually meaningful spaces. Students will understand the role of scale, proportion, colour, texture, balance, and visual hierarchy in developing a large-scale artwork.
The event also aims to promote appreciation for Indian cultural heritage and traditional visual expressions while encouraging contemporary interpretations through student creativity. The completed Ganesh mural will serve as a vibrant artistic installation and contribute to enhancing the ambience of the institutional campus.
Overall, the event is intended to provide a hands-on creative learning experience that combines art, culture, design, collaboration, and community participation, while giving students an opportunity to express their ideas through a shared visual artwork.
