INTERNATIONAL HOUSEKEEPING WEEK
About the Event
International Housekeeping Week 2026
Theme: “Excellence, Cleanliness & Dedication”
International Housekeeping Week is a dedicated celebration recognising the skill, commitment, and professionalism of housekeeping teams, whose work forms the foundation of cleanliness, comfort, safety, and guest satisfaction in the hospitality industry.
Under the theme “Excellence, Cleanliness & Dedication,” the celebration at SOHMT aims to highlight the importance of housekeeping as much more than cleaning and maintenance. It represents attention to detail, service excellence, hygiene, creativity, sustainability, and an unwavering commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
The week will bring together students and faculty through a series of engaging activities that combine tradition, culinary creativity, professional skills, innovation, and teamwork. The celebrations will begin with Ganpati Sthapna, followed by a Prasad Making Competition, and culminate with the innovative “Room of the Future” activity, encouraging students to imagine the next generation of smart, sustainable, and guest-centric hotel rooms.
Through these activities, International Housekeeping Week seeks to celebrate the people behind every spotless room and welcoming space, while creating awareness about the evolving scope and career opportunities within housekeeping and hospitality operations.
Celebrating the hands that create spotless spaces, the minds that drive innovation, and the dedication that defines hospitality excellence.
