About the Event
World Mental Health Day 2026 – Seminar and Awareness Activities
The School of Nursing, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, Dehradun, will celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2026 with a seminar and a series of creative awareness activities based on the theme “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.” The programme aims to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma associated with mental health problems, and encourage students and faculty to recognize the importance of emotional well-being and supportive communication.
The seminar will provide an interactive platform for students and faculty to gain knowledge about mental health, the importance of listening to lived experiences, early identification of psychological concerns, and the role of empathy and support in promoting mental well-being. Participants will be encouraged to share their perspectives and understand the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
To make the celebration engaging and participatory, several theme-based activities will be organized, including poster presentation, face painting, and stone painting. Students will use creative artwork and meaningful messages to express ideas related to mental health awareness, hope, resilience, self-care, empathy, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness.
The celebration will provide an opportunity for students to combine knowledge, creativity, and advocacy while strengthening their understanding of mental health and promoting a culture of compassion and openness within the university community.
